Medicare

If you’re new to Medicare and don’t know where to start, you’re not alone. People turning 65 frequently have difficulty managing their lives at first. Medicare has a lot of different elements, and Medigap has a lot of different lettered plans, which can make things a little difficult.

What is Medicare?

Medicare is a federally funded health-care program for those aged 65 and over, as well as those under 65 with specified disabilities. It’s broken down into four sections: A, B, C, and D.

Original Medicare consists of Parts A and B.

Medicare Advantage is the name for Part C.

Supplemental insurance (commonly known as Medigap policies) can be added to Original Medicare.

WHAT PARTS DO YOU NEED TO ENROLL IN?

A and B are the only portions you need to enroll in at the Social Security office. Other portions of the enrollment process, such as supplemental insurance, will be handled by an insurance broker or agency like us.
